Healing Forests: Indigenous peoples have long recognised the connection between land, forests, water and oceans.  In New Zealand realising the Inter-dependent kinship between the tohora (whale) and kauri (tree species significant to New Zealand Maori), indigenous knowledge holders are using traditional knowledge from ocean and forests to address a plant pathogen that is destroying native forests.  This presentation will explore the application of ocean solutions across forest and biosecurity management and discuss the application of indigenous knowledge to contemporary environmental problems.
