Ana B Bugnot
Ana’s research focusses on the impacts of human activities on biodiversity and the delivery of ecosystem services in the ocean, and investigates solutions to ameliorate those impacts including restoration and other nature-base solutions. Her work aims to advance the science to inform practice and policy for the recovery of loss and degraded marine ecosystems. Ana’s research covers a range of tools and scales, including experimental field studies, genomics and biogeochemistry tools to test mitigation strategies at local scales, to remote sensing and data synthesis to understand drivers of change at continental to global scales.
Ana was a councillor for the Australian Marine Science Association (NSW branch: 2011-2017, National Council 2017-2022) and an active advocate for improved opportunities for early and mid-career researchers in AMSA and CSIRO, and as well as in her previous positions at The University of Sydney and the Sydney Institute of Marne Science
