Angela Capper Australian Marine Sciences Association Annual Meeting 2023

Angela Capper

I have more than 20 years experience in the field of marine ecotoxicology. I have a broad interest in anthropogenic pollutants, marine litter, chemical ecology, harmful algal blooms (HABs), seafood security, aquaculture and fisheries co-existence. I am specifically interested in trophic and vectorial transfer, bioaccumulation and bioconcentration of marine natural and inorganic toxins. I am currently working on a range of projects: 'All roads flow to the sea' - capturing road-based plastic pollution using physical and community interventions (Queensland Government's Community Sustainability Action Grant); where does the plastic go? Microplastic loading in seagrass and mangroves; assessing the presence of emerging contaminants of concern (ECCs) associated with wastewater treatment plant discharges; and microalgal removal from aquaculture discharge using electro-flocculation.
