Iam PhD candidate conducting genetic research on Great White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias). I working closely with the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries to address key knowledge gaps around white shark population structure, diet and biotic factors influencing near shore visitation. I use a range of molecular genetic techniques including DNA metabarcoding to determine the diets; and eDNA paired with qPCR to improve the accuracy of monitoring and detection of White Sharks. In addition I use population genomics to assess the population genetic structure and patterns of relatedness among Australian east coast white sharks
